BuzzFeed - God bless TJ Oshie. This morning, the United States men's hockey team defeated Russia 3-2 in an incredible shootout finish that went eight rounds long. Bruce Bennett / Getty After a scoreless first period, Russia got on the board with a goal from team captain Pavel Datsyuk midway through the second period, but USA responded shortly after with a power play goal from Cam Fowler. Russia tied it up on another goal from Datsyuk, who was later stripped of a third goal that would have given Russia a late 3-2 lead, after the net became dislodged and the goal waved off on a controversial call.
